Montana Combination Hunts...
…Many of our archers and rifle hunters come out for more than one species during their hunt here in Montana. For example the elk and antelope rut occur simultaneously and we encourage all of our elk archers to apply for an antelope license so they can hunt both species during their trip.
The elk and antelope rut generally begins around the middle of September and continue into October. This varies slightly year to year. All three species; elk, antelope, and whitetail deer can be hunted by our archers during this period. Space is limited especially for deer so inquire early if you are looking for a full comprehensive hunt.
Rifle hunters are also encouraged to put in for antelope licenses especially those that are hunting when the seasons overlap from the start of the rifle season in October to mid-November. The antelope license is a tougher draw for rifle hunters but even if a hunter doesn’t draw the license the majority of the money is refunded minus a drawing and bonus point fee. The hunter is then able to use this bonus point in future drawings.
Walker Outfitting offers several different types of combination hunts. We are happy to try to accommodate special requests and answer any questions a potential client may have concerning our hunts. Please contact us anytime to discuss options for your next hunt.
Hope to see you in the Big Sky next season!
